Groups Facilitator (Full Time)

The Groups Facilitator at Steps to End Domestic Violence is responsible for organizing and co-facilitating emotional support groups, as well as developing and implementing curriculum-based groups, workshops, and educational training series for individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Responsibilities include coordinating with shelter staff, maintaining service user records, and collaborating with community partners and outreach efforts. The position is part of the Program Services Team and reports to the Director of Program Services.

This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role is paid $22/hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 403(b) plan, 24 paid days off, 12 holidays, and sick leave. Flexible hours, including evenings, and reliable transportation are required.

Parent Advocate (Full Time)

The Parent Advocate at Steps to End Domestic Violence provides advocacy and support services for parents and caregivers impacted by domestic violence. This role involves facilitating curriculum-based groups for parents/caregivers and their children, offering one-on-one support, conducting parental education, and coordinating with community partners to ensure comprehensive care. Additional responsibilities include maintaining service user records, participating in hotline coverage, and attending relevant community meetings. The position is part of the Direct Services Team and reports to the Children’s Program Coordinator.

This full-time, 40-hour-per-week position is paid $22/hour and comes with a generous benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 403(b) plan, 24 paid days off, 12 holidays, and sick leave. Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and access to reliable transportation are required.

EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS

  • New full-time (40 hours/week) employees receive generous paid sick time and up to 5 weeks paid vacation, 10 paid holidays, and 2 floating holidays in their first year. In subsequent years, employees can earn up to 7 weeks vacation.

    Additionally, we offer the option of Summer or Winter Fridays for all full-time staff. This provides staff with the opportunity to end their day early every other Friday during either the Winter or Summer season (equivalent to 32 hours per year).

    Steps offers full-time employees (who have been continuously employed for at least 12 months) up to 12 weeks of paid parental and family leave.

  • Medical Insurance through BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont. Steps pays 100% of the cost of silver plan premiums for employee only coverage and 85% of 2-person and family silver plans.

    Flexible Spending Accounts allow employees to pay for medical expenses on a pre-tax basis. Steps contributes $500 to each full-time employee’s account and provides an additional match incentive for a maximum contribution of up to $1,000.

    Dental Insurance through Delta Dental at no cost for employee and/or dependent coverage.

    Vision Insurance through VSP available at no cost for employee and/or dependent coverage.

    Wellness Incentive Stipend up to $250 per year. The stipend is a taxable benefit reimbursed to full-time employees to help cover wellness expenses. These flexible benefits are intended to promote physical and mental wellness.

    Employee Assistance Plan through Invest EAP - employees and members of their household receive free access to counseling and mental health resources; referrals for legal assistance, financial planning, childcare; and more.

  • Employees who work 30 hours or more per week are eligible for Standard Insurance Company’s Basic Life and AD&D insurance which covers one year’s salary in the event of an employee’s death while employed at Steps to End Domestic Violence.

  • All employees Steps to End Domestic Violence are eligible to enroll in a 403b account managed by Raymond James. Any employee working at least 1,000 hours in a year is eligible for a contribution equivalent to 1% of their salary, contributed at the end of each calendar year.

    After 1 year of employment, the Steps contributions are 50% vested, and after 2 years of employment, contributions are 100% vested.

  • Dependent Care Spending Accounts allow employees to pay for child/adult care expenses on a pre-tax basis. Steps contributes $500 to each full-time employee’s account and provides an additional match incentive for a maximum contribution of up to $1,000.

    Professional development stipend: All full-time staff are eligible for up to $500 per year to support professional development.

    Public Service Loan Forgiveness: Steps is a qualified employer under the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. To be eligible for the program, you need to have a qualifying loan, be enrolled in a qualifying repayment plan and you need to certify that you work for a qualified employer.
